Metal‐Half‐Salen Chemistry for One‐Pot Mineralization on Hydrophobic Polymer Membranes
Here we report a versatile one‐pot synthetic strategy for organic–inorganic composite membranes, which leverages a metal half‐Salen system to precisely govern the competing kinetics of coordination and hydrolysis. In contrast to conventional two‐step metal‐phenol chemistries, our integrated approach substantially simplifies the fabrication process ...

Electrochemistry of U(IV/III) in LiCl–KCl Molten Salt With Free‐Standing Boron‐Doped Diamond
The furnace and electrochemical cell used to investigate the U(III/IV) redox couple in molten LiCl–KCl is explained. The FS‐BDD working electrode is shown after removal from the molten salt eutectic, with salt forming at the bottom. Also, the reference electrode, a thin‐walled nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) tube with a silver wiring extending out of ...

In Holstein steers subjected to 15 h of long‐distance transportation, beef exhibited marked differences in meat quality, myofibrillar structure, and flavor components compared with cattle slaughtered without prior transport. These differences included significantly increased shear force, water loss rate, and drip loss, shortened sarcomere length, and ...

Repeated Pleistocene Permafrost Episodes in the Western Pannonian Basin
ABSTRACT Concerning the study of past periglacial processes, the Pannonian Basin is a key area as it contains the southernmost frost polygons found in Central Europe. The presence or absence of permafrost is still, however, a matter of debate, and data on the timing of frost action are also scarce.

Uranium capture from seawater is a promising sustainable strategy, and the adsorbents showing high uptake capacity and sorption trackability are essential. The work describes self‐indicating porous organic polymers that exhibit visible color changes during uranium adsorption and desorption cycles allow tracking of uranium‐free, saturated states without

Quantifying Natural Hydrogen‐Helium Sources and Dynamic Accumulation in Global Sedimentary Basins
Abstract Despite the scientific and economic importance of hydrogen and helium, their crustal budgets remain poorly quantified. This study systematically assesses the accumulation of natural hydrogen and helium in global sedimentary basins by integrating predictive models for both gases with H2/He ratios.

Abstract Ophiolitic mélanges and associated intrusions provide key archives for reconstructing the evolution of ancient ocean basins and subduction‐related mantle modification. The Hongliuhe–Niujuanzi–Xichangjing ophiolitic mélange in the central Beishan Orogen preserves important records of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean, but the timing of oceanic subduction ...

Abstract As crewed space missions set course for the Moon and beyond, astronauts will experience prolonged exposure to Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCR) and potentially intense Solar Proton Events (SPEs), both of which pose significant short‐ and long‐term health risks.
