Health Concerns in Uranium Mining and Milling
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 1981Mortality of uranium miners from both lung cancer and other respiratory diseases is strongly dependent on exposure to radon daughters, cigarette smoking and height. Lung cancer among 15 different mining groups (uranium, iron, lead, zinc) was analyzed to determine what factors influence incidence and the induction-latent period.

EVALUATING URANIUM DEPOSITS FOR SOLUTION MINING
Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1980ABSTRACT In situ leaching of uranium has rapidly developed into a commercial technology. The extent of this development is typified by the fact that many mining feasibility studies now routinely examine in situ leaching as well as the conventional shaft and open pit options. A methodology for evaluating the leachability of

Closure of Underground Mine of Lincang Uranium Mine
2008Linchang Uranium Mine is a small mine/mill complex and left 17 adits inclined shaft (V 1850) and 4 open raises after closure. Among them, 5 adits and the inclined shaft overflowed water, containing radioactive and non-radioactive constituents, such as, U, 226Ra, Cd, Cr6+, As, Pb, Cu, Mn, SO42- and F-.

Uranium mining involves a small fraction of those employed in the nuclear energy industry, but the work of these men is basic. Without the uranium which they produce there would be no power reactors and the Western world would be faced with extremely serious and difficult problems in attempting to meet power requirements from other sources.

Mining and milling uranium ore
1996Abstract Whole books have been written about every aspect of uranium mining and milling, so this chapter presents a selection of material particularly related to the author’s experience, largely in milling. Much of it is drawn from his own and other contributions to the comprehensive ‘Uranium Extraction Technology’ published by the IAEA,
