Simulation of 2-way fluid structure interaction in a 3D model combustor [PDF]
The liner of a gas turbine combustor is a very flexible structure that is exposed to the pressure oscillations that occur in the combustor. These pressure oscillations can be of very high amplitude due to thermoacoustic instability, when the fluctuations

Neuro-Fuzzy Network-Based Reduced-Order Modeling of Transonic Aileron Buzz
In the present work, a reduced-order modeling (ROM) framework based on a recurrent neuro-fuzzy model (NFM) that is serial connected with a multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network is applied for the computation of transonic aileron buzz.

A numerical study of unsteady cavitation on a hydrofoil by LES and URANS method [PDF]
In this paper, the unsteady cavitation phenomena on a NACA0015 hydrofoil is numerically simulated by unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) method and Large Eddy Simulation (LES) in single-fluid approaches to multiphase modelling, respectively.

On Cavitation Aggressiveness and Cavitation Erosion on Marine Propellers using a URANS Method [PDF]
Cavitation occurrence on the propeller blades may have severe effects, such as cavitation noise, vibrations in the aft ship, and material damage on propellers or rudder. While noise and vibrations affect comfort and stability, cavitation erosion might lead to a significant reduction of the propeller efficiency and structural integrity.

This study aims to evaluate the potential of a multistage pump design to enhance hemocompatibility in left ventricular assist devices. We found that the two‐stage concept offers favorable hemolysis measures compared to single‐stage designs, as the reduction in peak shear stresses outweighs the disadvantage associated with prolonged residence time ...
