Elephant‐Skin‐Inspired Porous Cementitious Tiles with Programmable Crack Networks for Passive Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Programmable 3D Photovoltaics via Mechanically Origami‐Coded Interlocked 3D Kirigami and Nano‐Root Anchored AgNWs–In–Ga Multiphasic Alloy Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanically origami‐coded 3D kirigami photovoltaics convert a single extension–release cycle into deterministic self‐folding, reconfiguring planar solar cells into programmable 3D modules. Distinct coding strategies enable either ultrahigh stretchability (500% system strain) or ultrahigh initial effective areal coverage (225%).

Hierarchical 2-D/3-D Object-Based Classification of Photogrammetric Textured Mesh Models

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The photogrammetric 3-D textured mesh model (TMM) obtained by unmanned aerial vehicle provides accurate geometric shapes and realistic textures. The 3-D semantics derived from TMMs serve as the foundation in many applications, such as urban planning ...

Mapping Seasonal Leaf Nutrients of Mangrove with Sentinel-2 Images and XGBoost Method

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Monitoring the seasonal leaf nutrients of mangrove forests helps one to understand the dynamics of carbon (C) sequestration and to diagnose the availability and limitation of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P).

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Designing multispecies role-playing games: From human-nature partnerships towards multispecies justice

open access: yesnpj Urban Sustainability
Current global socioecological crises are rooted in an anthropocentric worldview that sees humans as separate from and superior to the rest of nature.
