Radiative Thermal Management for Extreme Environments: Mechanisms and Design Strategies
In this review, we discuss the fundamental mechanisms of radiative cooling and solar heating, material and structural design strategies, hybrid approaches integrating additional heat transfer pathways, and durability‐oriented designs addressing environmental stresses.

Outdoor Thermal Comfort Study on Urban Areas with Various Densities in Taipei
With relatively high temperatures and evenly distributed precipitation throughout the year, outdoor thermal comfort is important in Taiwan. Thus, we discuss thermal comfort in different density areas with A: a low density (average buildings height/Street

Population density and urban air quality [PDF]
We use panel data from Germany to analyze the effect of population density on urban air pollution (nitrogen oxides, particulate matter and ozone). To address unobserved heterogeneity and omitted variables, we present long difference/fixed effects estimates and instrumental variables estimates, using historical population and soil quality as instruments.

Persistent Luminescence of doped SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ formulated in polymer matrices is a promising solution to be integrated in building envelopes for enhancing Passive Daytime Radiative Cooling. ABSTRACT Persistent Luminescent (PersL) materials have found applications in several fields; their integration into passive daytime radiative cooling systems ...

The flexible urban grid: adaptation, expansion and evolution in Philadelphia's city block morphology
This study examines the evolution of Philadelphia’s city block morphology between 1683, when the city was planned by William Penn, and 1900, when urban expansion abandoned the grid. The study uses both quantitative and qualitative assessment.

A closed U‐shaped microfluidic platform symmetrically embeds a single, size‐controlled HT29 colorectal cancer spheroid within a GFP‐HUVEC‐laden fibrin matrix. HT29 spheroids are associated with hyper‐branched endothelial network remodeling, while vascularized co‐culture is accompanied by anisotropic protrusive growth and EMT‐like marker changes in the ...

Differences in the Intensity of Surface and Canopy-Layer Urban Heat Islands in Europe
The satellite-derived surface urban heat island is often not properly distinguished from the in situ derived canopy-layer urban heat island in the field of remote sensing of urban climates.

A theory‐guided magnetoelectric metasurface design breaks the conventional optical transparency and electromagnetic performance trade‐offs. By preserving the electric and magnetic current paths required for efficient reflection through fine‐metal‐line structure, the developed transparent reflective metasurface achieves high optical transparency without

Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.
