The origin and evolution of urban form in Wanganui East, Gonville and Castlecliff : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Geography at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
The decision to study the urban form of Wanganui East, Gonville and Castlecliff (Plates 1,2 and 3) was made in 1968 after discussions with Mr. Ross, the then Town Planner for the City of Wanganui. Tho topic was chosen for two reasons.

URBAN SUSTAINABILITY AND URBAN FORM METRICS

open access: yesJournal of Green Building, 2012
INTRODUCTION A significant milestone was recently passed, with the majority of humankind now living in cities. For the first time in the history of our species, the immediate human environment will primarily be the built environment. Accelerating urbanization does not change the fact, however, that human beings ultimately remain dependent on ...

Multifunctional Tailoring of Fertilizer Composites Directly Derived From Phosphate Rock

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel phosphorus‑sulfur mixed acid with urea (PSU) activation system converts low‑grade phosphate rock (LPR) into multifunctional fertilizer composites (MFCs). MFCs feature porous structures, high nutrient‑activation efficiency, superior slow‑release, and enhanced crop growth, offering a sustainable solution for integrated nutrient management and ...

Contrastive Learning with Image Deformation and Refined NT-Xent Loss for Urban Morphology Discovery

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information
The traditional paradigm for studying urban morphology involves the interpretation of Nolli maps, using methods such as morphometrics and visual neural networks. Previous studies on urban morphology discovery have always been based on raster analysis and

Dynamics of urban sprawl [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This paper introduces a framework for understanding the dynamics of urban growth, particularly the continuing problem of urban sprawl. The models we present are based on transitions from vacant land to established development.

A Novel Metal Foam‐Supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell With High Specific Power

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) employing metal foam supports with an ultrahigh porosity of 90% and average pore size of 100 µm are successfully fabricated. The metal foam architecture significantly enhances gas diffusion coefficients, effectively reducing concentration polarization while simultaneously decreasing areal mass.

Urban form as environmental noise indicators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The urban form affects all systems and all species in an urban context and influences their behavior from the emission of noise, through its course until reaching the receiver, affecting the global climate. This paper seeks to address the problems of the
