Biomimetic Self‐Reconfigurable Soft Gripper for Cross‐Scale, Multi‐Particle, and High‐Load Multifunctional Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully soft, self‐reconfigurable gripper inspired by rapeseed flowers is monolithically 3D‐printed and electronics‐free, switching between diagonal and parallel finger arrangements. Establishing a self‐reconfigurable grasping paradigm, the gripper enables diverse manipulation tasks, including rotating bulbs, picking fruits, grasping cross‐scale ...

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

A multiscale classification of urban morphology

open access: yesJournal of Transport and Land Use, 2015
Various studies in the field of urban planning and design have given recommendations for "good urban forms," suggesting that specific spatial characteristics inform the quality of an urban landscape and the way people perceive and behave in them.

Electric Field‐Induced Hole‐ and Electron‐Type Flat Bands in Twisted Double Bilayer Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The electronic structure of twisted double bilayer graphene is visualized using angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy with micrometer spatial resolution at twists of 3.1∘$^\circ$ and 6.0∘$^\circ$ as a function of gate voltage. Tunable hybridization effects and flat band formation occurs between valence and conduction band states due to a finite ...

Les trames vertes urbaines et l’adaptation au changement climatique : perspectives pour l’aménagement du territoire

open access: yesVertigO, 2012
Face to inevitable impacts of climate change, it is necessary for urban areas to adapt with the main goal to reduce territory and population vulnerability.

Accounting for Substitution: Improving Estimates of GHG Reductions From Cattle‐Based Product Demand Shifts

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Estimates of reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from lower demand for cattle‐based products must account for substitution effects. This study collected data through two surveys—one on ground beef and another on dairy milk—to evaluate substitution effects and potential GHG reductions.

Development of a Measure of Permeability between Private and Public Space

open access: yesUrban Science, 2018
This article focuses on the development of a measure for frontage permeability, which we argue is needed to complement existing metrics used to describe urban environments and assess, amongst others, social performativity.
