Recycling Ni‐Rich NCM Cathode Materials From Spent Li‐Ion Batteries as Efficient Electrocatalyst for Urea Oxidation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Mounting battery waste demands sustainable solutions. We recycle spent NCM cathodes into high‐performance urea oxidation catalysts, enabling sustainable hydrogen production and simultaneous urea waste treatment. The burgeoning electric vehicle industry has intensified the demand for high‐energy Ni‐Co‐Mn (NCM) cathodes, yet their end‐of‐life management ...

Functional Urban Areas in Colombia

OECD Regional Development Working Papers, 2016
This paper applies the OECD-EU methodology to identify the functional urban areas (FUAs) in Colombia. Using the municipal boundaries, population grid data and inter-municipalities commuting flows from the 2005 population census, the paper identifies 53 FUAs accounting for 27 million people, or 63% of the national population. The resulting FUAs are then

FUNCTIONAL BARRIERS IN IASI URBAN AREA [PDF]

open access: possibleTheoretical and Empirical Researches in Urban Management, 2011
The forced industrialisation of cities resulted in the construction of giant sites in outlying areas. December 1989 triggered the decline of industrial activities, wich could not be sustained any longer. Gradually, industrial halls have been abandoned, turning into ghosts of past glory, „black spots” that visually pollute the city’s image.

The Urban Hierarchy and Urban Area Production Function: A Synthesis

Urban Studies, 1977
Urban production functions, often used to indicate optimal city size, usually deal with one city in isolation. This paper introduces differing production and transport costs and demand intensities in order to generate an urban hierarchy of differing urban sizes and market areas.

Classification of the Functions of Urban Area Based on Deep Learning

Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Information Technologies and Electrical Engineering, 2019
Classification of the Functions of Urban Area is of great significance to urban construction and refined management. High-resolution remote sensing images are widely used in urban area functional classification, and urban area functions are closely related to human activities. Therefore, in the urban area functional classification model, the effects of

Population Growth in Functional Urban Areas

2019
This chapter presents an analysis of population change of FUAs in Poland against other municipalities. It analyses differences in population growth or decline between city cores and commuting zones of FUAs. In addition, the study shows trends in population change by size and location of FUAs.

Changes in Migrations in Functional Urban Areas

2019
The chapter will analyse the changes in the intensity and directions of migration in FUAs in the years 1990–2016. More specifically, the directions of population migration from and to the cores/commuting zones according to the size of FUAs will be explored (including total and subperiods).

Evaluating Functions in Urban-Rural Areas

1997
There is a general consensus among the scientific community and the general public that rural areas on the periphery of towns play a strategic role in regional planning.

Functional Urban Areas—Theoretical Background

2019
This chapter explores the theoretical insight behind the concept of functional regions as areas that integrate cities into their immediate hinterland. The literature on urban development from a demographic context will also be explored, including a wide ranging literature overview on population processes, namely the second demographic transition and ...

Changes in Fertility and Mortality in Functional Urban Areas

2019
This chapter presents the natural population change in FUAs in the years 1990–2016. In particular, changes in the number of births, deaths, marriages, divorces as well as total natural increase will be investigated in FUAs and other Polish municipalities and according to the size of FUAs.
