Biomass‐Coupled HER System: A Strategy for Sustainable and Low‐Cost Hydrogen Production

Pine wood is carbonized into a hierarchically porous biochar anode that undergoes carbon oxidation reaction, replacing the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline water electrolysis. Monolayer TNS cover Au/SiO2 and Au/CeO2 surfaces, forming Au–TiOx contact structure that serve as active sites for CO oxidation, thereby significantly improving catalytic activity. On Au/SiO2, the Au–TiOx interface was generated through TNS adsorption and calcination, while TNS adsorption solely promoted the Au–TiOx interface formation on Au/CeO2.
