A Transparent Long‐Term Cooling Green Plant‐Like Window for Net‐Zero Energy Buildings

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
In this work, we report a bioinspired transparent green plant‐like window that integrates passive cooling, thermal insulation, and solar‐driven waste heat recovery to reduce building energy consumption. Outdoor field tests and 168‐h solar simulator exposure confirm long‐term thermal stability and cooling up to 21.9°C, and then simulations across 30 ...

Spatial–Temporal Patterns and Inequality in Greenspaces in Chinese Campuses

open access: yesGeo: Geography and Environment, Volume 13, Issue 2, July‐December 2026.
Short Abstract This study examines the spatial–temporal patterns and inequality of greenspaces in over 27,000 Chinese schools and universities, revealing significant disparities in greenspace coverage and per capita area among different regions, school types and urban versus campus environments.

Effects of Water Diversion on Hydrological and Vegetation Dynamics in a Downstream Wetland Ecosystem

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
Process‐based eco‐hydrologic model quantified the impact of water diversion on the hydrologic cycle and vegetation changes in the downstream wetland. Reproducibility of simulation results implies the model includes important factors associated with hydrologic change and vegetation succession.

Incorporating Crowdsourced Data Into Operational Products: A Perspective From a National Meteorological Service

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 9, July 2026.
Future advances in the fields of meteorology and climate science will require scientists to increasingly strive towards the provision of new high‐resolution services. In this context, the development of new products and services along the weather chain may greatly benefit from the adoption of second‐and‐third‐party data (23PD) as a source of high ...

Modeling long‐term population viability to inform recovery of a functionally extinct urban Blanding's turtle population

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 5, July 2026.
We used a population viability analysis to evaluate the influence of headstarting on recovery of the Rouge National Urban Park Blanding's turtle population. Completing the remaining 12 years of the 20‐year headstarting program is projected to approximately double population size relative to no further supplementation.

Optimizing Wind Power Plant Locations: A GIS‐Based Approach With Interval Type‐2 Fuzzy Risk Deviation Performance Index

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This study develops an integrated GIS and multicriteria decision making (MCDM) approach supported by the Interval Type‐2 Fuzzy Risk Deviation Performance Index (IT2F‐RDPI) method to assess the wind energy potential in Diyarbakır Province. Fifteen criteria, including wind speed, slope, land use, elevation, soil structure, and proximity to ...

Gamification as an Approach To Enhance Comprehension in Risk Elicitation: Experimental Evidence From Smallholder Farmers

open access: yesAgricultural Economics, Volume 57, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding risk attitudes is critical for agricultural development, as risk is ubiquitous in the lives of smallholder farmers. Accurate elicitation of risk attitudes is essential to analyze patterns and biases in decision‐making. Ensuring comprehension and attention in risk elicitation tasks is particularly important, as inattentiveness ...
