Selective Sequestration of Toxic NOx Gases by P‐Doped Graphene: A Density Functional Theory Study

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
P‐doped graphene (P‐grap) is explored as an NOx sensor through DFT simulations. The analysis of its geometry, binding energies, electronic properties, and atom‐in‐molecule characteristics demonstrates that P‐grap is a selective sensor for NOx among a mixture of various gases.

Noise propagation in urban and industrial areas [PDF]

open access: yes
Noise propagation in streets and the discrepancies between theoretical analyses and field measurements are discussed. A cell-model is used to estimate the general background level of noise due to vehicular sources distributed over the urban ...

Long-distance frequency transfer over an urban fiber link using optical phase stabilization

open access: yes, 2008
We transferred the frequency of an ultra-stable laser over 86 km of urban fiber. The link is composed of two cascaded 43-km fibers connecting two laboratories, LNE-SYRTE and LPL in Paris area.

Annotating aspects in text and image: A new task and dataset for multimodal aspect‐based sentiment analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aspect‐Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) has evolved from textual analysis to a multimodal paradigm, integrating visual information to capture nuanced sentiments. Despite advancements, existing Multimodal ABSA (MABSA) research remains limited in granularity, which focuses on either coarse‐level categories or named entities, neglecting fine ...

Evaluation of performance of acoustic materials - a case study in Brazilian civil construction

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
Urban noises are emitted simultaneously by a wide variety of sources, such as, transportation and activities encountered in large cities. Many studies show that traffic noise followed by noise produced by neighbours are the main disturbing sources ...

Sound event detection by intermittency ratio criterium and source classification by deep learning techniques

open access: yesNoise Mapping
Urban environments are characterized by a complex interplay of various sound sources, which significantly influence the overall soundscape quality. This study presents a methodology that combines the intermittency ratio (IR) metric for acoustic event ...

Moderators of noise-induced cognitive change in healthy adults

open access: yesNoise and Health, 2016
Environmental noise causes cognitive impairment, particularly in executive function and episodic memory domains, in healthy populations. However, the possible moderating influences on this relationship are less clear.

Optimization and sensitivity studies of flight-path trajectories [PDF]

open access: yes
The optimization of landing trajectories of the Boeing 737 is presented. The primary factor considered was the noise delivered to the population residing near an air terminal but passenger comfort, fuel consumption and time elapsed during the maneuver ...
