Statistics and Dynamics of Urban Populations
2023Abstract In this book, we describe all aspects of quantitative approaches to urban population growth, ranging from measures and empirical results such as the famous Zipf law, to the mathematical description of their evolution. Traumatic Hyphema in an Urban Population
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1990We reviewed 241 patients (178 black and 63 white) who were examined and treated at the Detroit Medical Center between 1980 and 1989 for traumatic hyphema. Secondary hemorrhage occurred in 46 patients (19%) and was significantly higher in black patients (P less than .005).

Modeling the Segregation of the Urban Population
Environment and Planning B: Planning and Design, 1984The paper is concerned with the effects of spatial externalities on urban development. With the Herbert-Stevens model of the housing market as the point of departure, equilibrium conditions are formulated. Similar to those of stationary points in quadratic programming, these conditions allow the adaptation of the corresponding algorithms.

1958
Contained within the 3rd Edition (1957) of the Atlas of Canada is a plate consisting of four condensed maps that show urban populations of the people living in Canada. The two maps at the top of this plate show the night-time distribution of population, circa 1956 for Metropolitan Toronto and part of Montreal Island.

The Modelling of Urban Population Density: A Survey
Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space, 1980This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the principal models of urban population density, including the seven members of the quadratic gamma family and Amson's equilibrium models. A historical introduction is followed by a review of basic assumptions, and then each model is analysed individually, with separate discussions of principal ...
