Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Urbanization and structural transformation [PDF]
Chapter 12, “Urbanization and Structural Transformation,†describes patterns of urbanization in Ethiopia and government policy to promote development of secondary cities. Official population data indicate rapid urban growth, 4.2 percent per year between 1994 and 2015, far outpacing the overall population growth rate of 2.5 percent.

Orbital Electrowetting: From Continuous Droplet Transport to Programmable Microfluidics
This work comprehensively summarizes the mechanisms, recent advances, potential applications, and key challenges of orbital electrowetting. It highlights that integrating orbital electrowetting with conventional electrowetting is required to enable complete digital‐microfluidic workflows while simplifying platform architecture.

Stress-mediated multi-fault rupture dynamics of the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake sequence, Türkiye
The 2023 Kahramanmaraş (M7.8) and Elbistan (M7.6) earthquakes in Türkiye provide a profound case study in multi-fault rupture dynamics. We update a pre-existing Coulomb stress model¹ to analyse the historical and immediatestress conditions that caused ...

Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.
