Colors, Position, and Harmonies in Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin Palette

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 51, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin pallete NCS variables collage. Source: Maria Fernanda Pilotto Brandi. ABSTRACT This research analyzes the colors and their positions in Frank Lloyd Wright's 1955 Taliesin palette, examining whether their proximity forms harmonious sets based on predefined parameters. The study will use the Natural Color System (N.C.S.) and

Fire‐induced disturbances in Malpighiaceae sequential flowering: Implications for pollination services and plant reproductive success

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 41, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our study demonstrates that fire has a strong influence on flowering phenology and reproductive dynamics in Malpighiaceae species from the Brazilian Cerrado. Specifically, fire triggered an earlier onset of flowering and promoted a more synchronous and widespread blooming, resulting in a temporary surge in floral resource availability. This increase in

Species‐observer link and kernel density estimation of background points allow for sampling bias correction in bird species distribution models

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2025, Issue 12, December 2025.
Species distribution models (SDMs), broadly referring to both species distribution and ecological niche modelling frameworks, are widely used to predict habitat suitability. However, their performance can be biased by uneven sampling effort in occurrence data.

Modelling migration dynamics of Common Cranes and Eurasian Spoonbills as hydrological flow

open access: yesIbis, Volume 167, Issue 4, Page 962-978, October 2025.
The migration of birds through a stopover site may be understood as a physical process of hydrological flow through a reservoir whose water levels rise and fall over a migration period. Hydrological flow models show promise as a way of integrating information on storage (daily counts of birds), inflow/outflow (number of birds arriving/departing each ...

Gender, toilets, and the planning gap: A United Nations framework analysis of Canadian municipal parks policies

open access: yesCanadian Geographer / Le géographe canadien, Volume 69, Issue 4, Winter / hiver 2025.
Abstract Gender and toilets are intimately connected. According to the United Nations (UN), access to sanitation, inclusive of toilets, within public spaces is a human right, and tied to the Sustainable Development Goals to achieve gender equality. A framework was developed to assess the provision of toilets in public spaces and includes five criteria:

Weaving values, knowledge and context to care for human–nature relationships in protected areas

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 7, Issue 8, Page 1952-1971, August 2025.
Abstract Transformative change necessitates a profound shift in how people relate to, understand, value and envision landscapes to find effective pathways for conservation science and practice. In response, we examined the relationships among broad values—biospheric, altruistic and egoistic—that work in conjunction with ecological knowledge acquisition

¿Urbanismo o urbanismos?

open access: yesVIII Congreso Internacional ISUF-H Valencia 2024 - FORMAS URBANAS DIVERSAS PARA ESPACIOS EN RECOMPOSICIÓN

Characterizing Aquifer Properties Through a Sparse‐Grids‐Based Bayesian Framework and InSAR Measurements: A Basin‐Scale Application to Alto Guadalentín, Spain

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Aquifer characterization is essential for predicting aquifer responses and ensuring sustainable groundwater management. In this study we develop a sparse‐grids‐based Bayesian framework to infer the hydraulic conductivity and the soil compressibility of over‐exploited aquifer systems using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) ground
