Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.

On environmental concern, willingness to pay, and postmaterialist values: Evidence from Istanbul [PDF]

open access: yes
We explore the impact of geographical proximity of environmental problems on environmental concern and willingness to pay (WTP) for environmental improvement, with emphasis on the relevance of Inglehart’s postmaterialism thesis on this inquiry.

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Do Social Transfers “Crowd-Out” Remittances: Evidence from Bosnia [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents the results of estimation of the model of interaction between social transfers and remittances. Compared to previous studies, this paper estimates non-monotonic “crowding out” effect by an innovative empirical model specification. The

Relationship Between Knowledge and Compliance With Safety Measures: Evidence From COVID‐19

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Compliance with health safety protocols is important for protecting public health, particularly in agricultural sectors where disease outbreaks can disrupt production and market access. Despite its economic significance, we know little about what drives protocol compliance.

Changes in Alcohol Retail Laws and Foot Traffic at Liquor Stores

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study how expanding alcohol availability at grocery and convenience stores affects consumer traffic in liquor stores by leveraging recent changes in state‐level alcohol distribution laws in a difference‐in‐difference quasi‐experimental design.

Beyond the Ban—Shedding Light on Smallholders' Price Vulnerability in Indonesia's Palm Oil Industry

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Indonesian government imposed a palm oil export ban in April 2022 to address rising cooking oil prices. This study explores oil palm smallholders' vulnerability to the policy using descriptive statistics, Lasso, and post‐Lasso OLS regressions.
