Urea is generated by the urea cycle enzymes, which are mainly in the liver but are also ubiquitously expressed at low levels in other tissues. The metabolic process is altered in several conditions such as by diets, hormones, and diseases. Urea is then eliminated through fluids, especially urine.

Urea Reduction Ratio Considering Urea Rebound
Nephron, 1998An American National Study shows that survival benefits from higher dialysis doses appear to be present up to a Kt/V level of 1.3 or a urea reduction ratio (URR) of 70%. The effect of increasing dialysis efficiency magnified urea rebound and the error in URR determinations.

Plasma urea kinetics in urea infusion
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1972Seven patients undergoing an infusion of 30 per cent urea‐10 per cent invert sugar solution (Urevert) for treatment of cerebral edema were studied with regard to plasma urea kinetics. The 2 compartment (extracellular and intracellular fluid spaces) model has been applied to analysis of the plasma levels.

AbstractOver the last decade the use of urea derivatives as useful reagents, catalysts, and structural features in organic chemistry has increased rapidly. They now find utility as hydrogen‐bond donors in organocatalysts and anion transporters, as important scaffolds in supramolecular chemistry, as lithiation directors, amination substrates, and ...

Urea Quality Sensor Integration in Urea Supply Line / Urea Tank
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2012<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is a promising technology for diesel after treatment. SCR can be used to meet Euro IV and even stringent emission standards. Dosing of urea must be controlled to lower NOx emission and NH3 slip simultaneously.
