Abstract Agricultural soils are a significant source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, primarily as N2O. Monitoring how management practices impact soil gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, and N2O) is useful for making sure conservation practices (e.g., no‐till) are sustainable with regards to all potential environmental impacts.

Abstract Industrial hemp's return to American agriculture has been accompanied by claims of the crop's carbon neutrality, primarily due to its commercial applications.
