Mehtamyces (Uredinales) Reinstated
Mycologia, 1981Many rust fungi have been reported on the Bignoniaceae. Of these, the rust on Stereospermum suaveolens DC. has drawn the attention of uredionoligists from time to time. The Sydows (1915) first reported a rust fungus on S. chelonoides (L. F.) DC., from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) as Uredo stereospermi.

The Mycelium of the Uredinales
American Midland Naturalist, 1942Clamp-connections have come to be regarded as characteristic structures of the Basidiomycetes although they are lacking in many species. Some years ago the Moreau's (1922) reported them as occurring in the Ascolichen, Parmelia Acetabulum, but their figures are not convincing. More recently Greis (1938) reported them in a species of Tuber.

A Monograph of Maravalia (Uredinales)
Mycologia, 1984Thirty-one species of Maravalia are recognized. Scopella and Angusia are synonymous with Maravalia. Maravalia bolivarensis, M. exigua, M. guianensis, and M. swartziae are new species. Seventeen new combinations are proposed.

Phylogenetic relationships within the group are poorly understood, with between two and 14 families being recognised on morphological and host taxonomic grounds.
