Double ureter and congenital diverticulum of the ureter [PDF]
The ureteral duplication is a relatively common malformation and usually has no pathologic consequences. On the contrary, congenital diverticula of the ureter are rare and often give rise to urinary complications. A double malformation combining left ureteral duplication and a congenital diverticulum of the right ureter is reported and discussed.

Triplication of the ureter is a rare congenital anomaly which was first described in the English literature in 1931 (Lau and Henline, 1931). It is the purpose of this paper to describe an additional case which was discovered during routine investigation of a urinary tract infection.

Intraoperative Ureter Visualization Using a Novel Near-Infrared Fluorescent Dye.
Molecular Pharmaceutics, 2018Ureters can be accidentally severed during pelvic surgeries, significantly prolonging the times in the operating room to allow for complete repair of damaged ureters and leading to significant morbidities associated with consequent ureter obstruction and

Urine moves from the kidney to the bladder through the ureter. A series of compression waves facilitates this transport. Due to the highly concentrated mineral deposits in urine, stones are formed in the kidney and travel down through the urinary tract ...

Initial Series of Four-Arm Robotic Completely Intracorporeal Ileal Ureter.
Journal of endourology, 2016Ileal ureter formation has been found to be a suitable treatment option for long, chronic ureteral strictures not amendable to less invasive forms of repair. Minimally invasive surgical techniques for this condition have been investigated.

Summary— Five patients with ureteric endometriosis are described. Extensive pre‐operative investigation failed to reveal the aetiology of the unilateral upper urinary tract obstruction seen in all of these patients. Due to the dense fibrosis that invariably accompanies ureteric endometriosis, early surgical excision of the ureteric stricture permits ...

Inguinal Herniation of a Transplant Ureter: Lessons Learned From a Case of "Water Over the Bridge".
Experimental and Clinical Transplantation, 2016Inguinal herniation of the transplant ureter is rare, and there is a paucity of reports in the literature. Herniation is usually secondary to implanting a long redundant ureter and may be precipitated by its course over the spermatic cord.

A rare case of carcinosarcoma of the ureter is reported. Histologically, this neoplasia was an unusual heterologous carcinosarcoma of the ureter. 2 years after the initial total nephroureterectomy, the patient died from recurrence.

Primary ureteral tumors occur relatively infrequently compared to tumors of the kidney and bladder. Smooth muscle tumors of the ureter are very rare and only 9 cases of leiomyosarcoma have been reported in the literature. The treatment of choice is total nephroureterectomy with en bloc excision of the tumor. Prognosis is unfavorable as indicated by the
