A giant ureteric calculus

Ureteric stones are usually small and symptomatic. We present a case of a 35-year old female who presented with minimally symptomatic right distal ureteric calculus with proximal hydroureteronephrosis. Laparoscopic right ureterolithotomy was performed and a giant ureteric calculus measuring 11 cm Χ 1.5 cm, weighing 40 g was retrieved.

Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cell–Derived Exosomes Attenuate Renal Fibrosis by Suppressing Fibroblast Activation via the INHBA/PI3K/AKT Pathway

MSC‐Exo derived from human umbilical cord (HucMSC‐Exo) downregulates INHBA expression, consequently modulating the PI3K/AKT signaling cascade. This regulation attenuates renal fibroblast activation and extracellular matrix deposition, thereby exerting a renoprotective effect against fibrosis.
