Mechanism Analysis of Zuogui and Yougui Pills on Diabetic Nephropathy Through Transcriptional Regulatory Networks of HIF1A and PPARA

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
The shared mechanisms of Zuogui Pill (ZGP) and Yougui Pill (YGP) for treating diabetic nephropathy is HIF1A‐CA9‐PDK1 and PPARA‐PDK4. ZGP and YGP inhibited renal fibrosis and relieved the decrease in glucose consumption through transcriptional regulatory network of HIF1A and PPARA.

Impact of Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection on Early Oncological Outcomes in Intermediate‐Risk Prostate Cancer Patients With Node‐Negative PSMA PET

open access: yesThe Prostate, Volume 85, Issue 8, Page 777-783, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background PSMA PET/CT has previously shown superior performance in nodal staging of prostate cancer (PCa) and may be used to reduce the number of unnecessary PLND procedures. This study aims to assess the performance of PSMA PET/CT in nodal staging of intermediate‐risk prostate cancer and to evaluate the effect of PLND on oncological outcomes

Microbial colonization and ureteral stent-associated storage lower urinary tract symptoms: the forgotten piece of the puzzle? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: Ureteral stents are frequently associated with side effects. Most patients suffer from storage lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Storage LUTS are commonly attributed to the irritation of the trigone, smooth muscle spasm or a combination of ...

SMYD2 Promotes Renal Tubular Cell Apoptosis and Chronic Kidney Disease Following Cisplatin Nephrotoxicity

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 10, 31 May 2025.
SMYD2 mediates the activation of the NF‐κB signaling pathway to promote cisplatin‐induced chronic kidney injury. Cisplatin stimulation induces the upregulation of SMYD2 expression in renal tubular epithelial cells. SMYD2 promotes the phosphorylation of the p65 subunit of NF‐κB through methylation, thereby facilitating the release of inflammatory ...

Improved detection of microbial ureteral stent colonisation by sonication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: The diagnosis of microbial ureteral stent colonisation (MUSC) is difficult, since routine diagnostic techniques do not accurately detect microorganisms embedded in biofilms.
