Ureteroscopy Without Fluoroscopy: A Feasibility Study and Comparison to Conventional Ureteroscopy
Journal of Endourology, 2014Patients with urolithiasis are exposed to significant amounts of radiation during their initial work-up, surgical treatment, and follow-up. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of performing ureteroscopy without fluoroscopy. In addition, we compared patients treated using a completely fluoroless ureteroscopic technique with a ...

Ureteroscopy: The Initial Experience
Journal of Urology, 1986A prospective study of our first 81 cases of ureteroscopy using extended length rigid endoscopes was performed. Of 55 stone manipulations attempted in 51 patients by 6 endoscopists 38 (69 per cent) were successful. Analyzed sequentially, removal was successful in 12 of 23 attempts (52 per cent) among the initial 40 patients and in 26 of 32 (81 per cent)

Ureteroscopy is used with increasing regularity to diagnose and treat myriad upper urinary tract pathologies. Advances and miniaturization in the design of ureteroscopes and their accessory instruments combined with sound ureteroscopic technique make modern ureteroscopy quite safe. However, complications of ureteroscopy still do occur and can result in

Ureteroscopy of the Abnormal Ureter
Urologic Clinics of North America, 1988We do not contend that all ureters are amenable to ureteroscopic manipulation; we only call attention to the vast and expanding armamentarium available to the practicing endourologist. The application of these techniques and instruments in certain cases, especially when the potential for morbidity with an open operation is significant, will no doubt ...

Accessory instrumentation for ureteroscopy
Current Opinion in Urology, 2004The use of ureteroscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic applications has evolved rapidly over the past 5 years. The purpose of this review is to discuss recent advances in instrumentation for rigid and flexible ureteroscopy.Advances in accessory instrumentation can be divided into improvements in ureteral access, irrigation, intracorporeal lithotripsy ...
