In 100 enuretic children who were cured or improved by treating urethral lesions, 59 percent benefited psychologically. Urethral disease in girls may lead to stress incontinence in later life.

Ultrasonographic evaluation of urethral stricture disease
Urology, 1992Twenty-four male patients with known or suspected urethral stricture disease were evaluated using ultrasonic urethrography and standard retrograde x-ray urethrography for comparative analysis of the two techniques. Each patient also had cystoscopy for direct visual verification of the extent of the stricture.

Two-Stage Urethroplasty for Urethral Stricture Disease
Journal of Urology, 1977Of 97 patients who underwent first-stage urethroplasty 23 per cent required at least 1 revision. Sixty-seven patients underwent second-stage reconstruction with a 90 per cent success rate. The various factors influencing the outcome of 2-stage urethroplasty procedures are analyzed critically.

Patch Graft Urethroplasty for Urethral Stricture Disease
Journal of Urology, 1976The results with 34 cases of patch graft urethroplasties for urethral stricture disease were compared to the results in other series and found to be significantly worse. Various factors that might have influenced the surgical results were analyzed. Patients dilated least frequently had the best results.
