Post-urethral suspension obstruction
Current Opinion in Urology, 2001Urethral obstruction is a consequence of surgery to treat stress incontinence in women. Although its incidence is relatively low, it still presents a challenging problem for the urologist. Recent work has focused on clarifying the etiology and incidence of this condition, as well as providing new definitions on bladder-outlet obstruction in women.

The Obstructive Effect of a Urethral Catheter
The Journal of Urology, 1996The effect of a urethral catheter on pressure-flow relationships of the urethra has important implications for the practice to this question in the past in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia. We assessed the obstructive effect of an 8 Ch. urethral catheter in men who presented with lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia ...

Anterior urethral valves—a rare cause of urethral obstruction
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2001Anterior urethral valves is a very rare congenital anomaly of the anterior urethra. It produces symptoms of varied intensity with the most severe ones leading to Urosepsis and renal failure (similar to as in posterior urethral valves) to the milder ones which may not produce any obstruction at all.

Definition of prostatic urethral obstruction
Urological Research, 1994Prostatic urethral obstruction as defined by urodynamic criteria is only present in about 70% of patients undergoing surgical treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Infravesical obstruction can only be diagnosed by simultaneous recording of detrusor pressure (intravesical pressure minus abdominal pressure) and urinary flow rate.
