Following internal urethrotomy for treatment of strictures of the bulbous urethra, 11 patients had primary split skin grafts inlaid over the urethrotomy site. There were no operative complications and the results in 5 patients with a 9-month follow-up are good.

Eleven patients underwent transpubic repair of membranous urethral strictures. Excision of the wedge of pubic bone was not associated with orthopedic disability and provided excellent exposure for primary anastomosis of the urethra. Distal urethral mobilization and incision of the intercrural septum provided adequate urethral length for tension-free ...

SUMMARYA one‐stage operation for the repair of impassable strictures of the urethra, using split‐skin graft, is described.Ten cases have been done during the past five years and in only one case has a stricture recurred. This failure is ascribed to the fact that excessive hæmorrhage necessitated packing of the wound and the application of the graft ...

URETHROPLASTIES FOR STRICTURES1
British Journal of Urology, 1960SUMMARY The results of four years' experience with the Bengt Johanson type of operation for repair of urethral stricture in males have been reviewed, and the relative merits of modifications favoured by various surgeons compared. This study (involving fifty-one cases, forty-four of which were assessable), suggests that on the whole a strict ...

Posterior Urethroplasty in Children
European Urology, 1987A series of 33 posterior urethral strictures in children is presented. The etiology was traumatic in 31 cases and iatrogenic in 2. Complex strictures were treated by a transpubic approach (20 cases) or by a posterior scroto-urethral inlay (1 case). Simple strictures were directly treated via the perineum: by a push-in technique (6 cases); by end-to-end

Summary— The pedicle patch urethroplasty provides an alternative single‐stage vascularised graft procedure for the repair of moderately severe hypospadias. Over a 7‐year period, 38 primary hypospadias repairs were performed employing this technique. The fistula rate was 18% in the 34 patients reviewed, but there were few other significant complications.

Transpubic Urethroplasty in Children
Journal of Urology, 1981In 12 children with membranous urethral strictures transpubic urethroplasty has been performed successfully with minimal morbidity and no mortality. Of the 12 patients 8 are completely continent after transpubic urethroplasty, 2 have partial continence and 2 are incontinent.

Augmented Anastomotic Urethroplasty
Journal of Urology, 2007During substitution urethroplasty, if the stricture contains a 1 to 2 cm region that is particularly narrow and/or fibrotic, that portion may be excised with subsequent anastomosis of the dorsal or ventral aspect of the urethra to shorten, widen and optimize the urethral wall onto which an onlay graft is to be placed. This procedure is termed augmented

Tunica vaginalis urethroplasty
Urology, 1992Tunica vaginalis on a vascular pedicle was tubularized and used as a urethra to repair hypospadias in three difficult cases. This is the first report of tunica vaginalis utilized for a urethral reconstruction in humans. This new surgical technique is described.
