El carcinoma primario de uretra es una neoplasia poco común, constituyendo menos del 1% de los tumores genitourinarios. Éste es más habitual en el sexo femenino, en una proporción 4:1, apareciendo en la sexta o séptima década de la vida, siendo el tipo histológico más frecuente el carcinoma de células escamosas.
