Management of Urinary Bladder Calculi
2012The most common cause of bladder stones in the adult is bladder outlet obstruction from mechanical or neurogenic causes. Pediatric bladder stones, on the other hand, are likely due to nutritional factors. Open surgery for bladder stones has almost completely been replaced by endoscopic methods.

Journal of Urology, 1984Repeated intravesical administrations of 0.9 per cent NaCl solution with or without bladder carcinogen N-butyl-N-(3-carboxypropyl)nitrosamine resulted in a high incidence of calculus formation in the urinary bladder. In all such cases, diffuse papillomatosis of the bladder urothelium was observed.

Laboratory Animals, 2010The zinc disc implantation-induced urinary bladder calculi model in the rat is commonly used for preclinical evaluation of the antiurolithiatic activity of test compounds. Certain published reports state that relatively long durations for which zinc discs must be implanted in the bladders of rats. Hence, there is a need to refine this model.

Hinyokika kiyo. Acta urologica Japonica, 1991A case of squamous cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder associated with a bladder stone in a 43-year-old man is reported. Because a 1 cm x 1 cm sized mass was found in the right lateral side of the dome at the time of vesicolithotomy, partial cystectomy was performed.
