Classification and Differential Diagnosis of Neoplasms, Urinary Bladder, Rat [PDF]
Bladder cancer in rats is a widely used and valuable model in carcinogenesis research. Considerable interest has also been centered on this tumor as an end-point in carcinogenesis testing and the resulting impact upon regulation of chemicals, such as cyclamate, saccharin, and melamine.

AgNORs in benign, borderline and transitional cell neoplasms of the urinary bladder
APMIS, 1998Argyrophilic nucleolar organizer regions (AgNORs) were studied in 106 tissue samples from the urinary bladder (6 normal transitional epithelium, 5 cystitis, 12 hyperplastic, 14 dysplastic lesions, 12 carcinoma in situ, 4 transitional cell carcinoma grade 0, 12 grade 1, 15 grade II and 12 grade III) to evaluate their role in differentiating benign ...

Stromelysin-3 expression in noninvasive and invasive neoplasms of the urinary bladder
Human Pathology, 2000Stromelysin-3 (ST-3) is a protease frequently expressed by fibroblasts surrounding invasive carcinomas. Based on its expression in some cases of breast carcinoma-in-situ, it has been thought to indicate a higher likelihood for subsequent invasion in preinvasive lesions.

Smooth Muscle Neoplasms of the Urinary Bladder
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2002We report the clinicopathologic, immunohistochemical, and DNA ploidy findings of 18 leiomyosarcomas of the urinary bladder. In addition, we compare these malignant smooth muscle tumors with 10 cases of urinary bladder leiomyoma. The 14 male and four female patients with leiomyosarcoma ranged in age from 25 to 88 years (mean 64 years). The tumors ranged

Urinary bladder neoplasms: evaluation with contrast-enhanced MR imaging.
Radiology, 1989Forty-eight patients with urinary bladder neoplasms were examined with magnetic resonance imaging before and after intravenous administration of gadolinium diethylene-triaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA). Spin-echo sequences with short repetition and echo times were used in all patients; in 20 a gradient-echo technique was used to perform sequential imaging.

Staging of Urinary Bladder Neoplasms with MR Imaging
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1991This study was performed to investigate whether intravenous administration of Gd-DTPA can improve the accuracy of MR imaging in the detection and staging of bladder neoplasms. In 68 patients with suspected urinary bladder neoplasms, MR examinations were performed with T1-weighted SE sequences before and after intravenous administration of Gd-DTPA.

Contrast-Enhanced MR Imaging of Urinary Bladder Neoplasms
1990Carcinomas of the bladder are the most common malignant tumors of the urinary tract (Zingg 1982). MR imaging has proven effective in evaluating urinary bladder tumors (Beer et al. 1989; Fisher et al. 1985; Koelbel et al. 1988; Kueper et al. 1986; Nicolas et al. 1988).

Removal of Neoplasms of the Urinary Bladder [PDF]
This brief preliminary report is written with the object of calling the attention of the profession to a new and simple method of destroying new growths of the urinary bladder. Even though my experience is not extensive, limited as it is to two large papillary growths, still the observations made leave no doubt in my mind that the Oudin current ...

Leiomyoma of the urinary bladder is a rare neoplasm of the bladder and accounts for 0.04 - 0.5% of bladder neo- plasms. Though most patients present with obstructive or irritative urinary symptoms, dyspareunia may be an un- usual presentation that should be kept in mind to avoid missing the diagnosis. Though MRI is considered to be the imaging modality
