Psychogenic urinary retention

Six cases (5 females and 1 male) of unexplained urinary retention are reported. The diagnosis of psychogenic urinary retention was considered after negative medical, urologic, urodynamic, and neurologic evaluations. This diagnosis was then confirmed by psychiatric consultation.
