Urinary output of endogenous monoamine oxidase inhibitory activity is related to everyday stress

open access: yes, 1996
The MAO A and B inhibitory components of urinary tribulin were investigated in normal individuals (11 males and 24 females, mean age ± SD: 27.1 ± 4.5 years) in relation to everyday stress.

Stress History Establishes a Transient Tolerant State That Shapes Antibiotic Survival Upon Resuscitation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput single‐cell analysis of resuscitating bacteria reveals a starvation‐history‐dependent transiently tolerant subpopulation that survives β$\beta$‐lactam exposure by temporarily reducing growth. Distinct from classical persisters, these actively growing yet dynamically modulated cells dominate survival across clinically relevant antibiotic

The Development and Pilot Clinical Study of CD147 Targeted Antagonistic Peptide Probe for Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐AP9 as a first‐in‐human CD147‐targeted PET tracer with favorable safety and specific tumor uptake. Tracer accumulation correlates with CD147 expression in patients, enabling noninvasive quantification of CD147‐positive malignancies.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Renal endothelin-1 is linked to changes in urinary salt and volume in essential hypertension

open access: yes, 2000
Methods: We investigated the influence of salt intake on urinary and plasma endothelin-1 (ET-1) in 55 patients who entered a two-week double-blind, randomised, crossover study comparing a 50 mMol/day salt intake and 150 mMol/day.

TME/NIR Dual‐Responsive Zinc‐Based Targeted Nanoagonist for Multimodal Amplification of STING‐Mediated Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanoagonist (cDZ@IP) enables nano‐metabolite–driven multimodal activation of the STING pathway and enhanced immune recognition, achieving potent antitumor immunity and suppressing tumor growth and metastasis. This strategy highlights the rational design of therapeutic metabolites and establishes a new paradigm bridging nanomedicine ...

Composition and Biochemical Determinants of Renal Stones: A Comprehensive Analysis of Urinary and Serum Mineral Profiles

open access: yesUrology Research and Practice
Objective: Renal stone formation is closely linked to disturbances in urinary and serum mineral metabolism. Analysis of stone composition along with biochemical parameters is essential for understanding the pathogenesis of different stone types ...

Digit Length Ratio as an Indicator of Fetal Androgen Levels: Relationship to Prostate Volume-Related Men Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms

open access: yes
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the 2nd and 4th digit ratios, which are associated with fetal androgen exposure, and prostate volume and testosterone levels, both of which are linked to lower urinary tract symptoms ...

Measurement of urinary bladder volume by ultrasonography in small animals

open access: yes, 2023
Ultrasound measurement of urinary bladder volume is a non-invasive method, providing an alternative to urethral catheterization for monitoring urinary volume in hospitalized patients. Urethral catheterization can lead to significant discomfort, urinary

Early Detection and Inhibition of Post‐Surgical Cancer Recurrence by Synthetic Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An implantable hydrogel is designed to hold gene transfection agents engineered to turn early recurrent tumor cells into generators of synthetic EVs. These synthetic EVs can express engineered miR‐26a (E‐miR‐26a) for highly sensitive detection and PD‐1 (a PD‐L1‐blocking agent) for therapeutic intervention, thereby enabling early detection and ...
