ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Prostate Volume and Urinary Discomforts in Elderly

open access: yesCollegium antropologicum, 2015
Occasional doubts about the real effect of the prostate volume on the urinary discomforts that elderly have been experiencing required additional assessment of these parameters. The aim of this study was to re-evaluate relationship between the urinary discomforts of the elderly and the prostate volume in comparison with age.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

DEVELOPMENT OF BLADDER CAPACITY, NOCTURNAL URINARY VOLUME AND URINARY BEHAVIOR IN NONENURETIC AND ENURETIC CHILDREN

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Urology, 1993
Bladder capacity, nocturnal urinary volume and nocturnal urinary behavior were investigated in 1751 nonenuretic and 282 enuretic children in two primary schools and four kindergartens. The results were as follows: 1. A statistically significant linear correlation was observed between the age and the bladder capacity in the morning and daytime, as well ...
