Efficient automated semi-quantitative urine culture analysis via BD Urine Culture App
Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2022We aimed to assess the clinical utility of BD KiestraTM Urine Culture App (UCA). High concordance rates were observed between the urine culture colony counts obtained by medical technologists and those produced using UCA. This application may increase the efficiency of obtaining semi-quantitative urine culture results.

Urine screening: an alternative to urine cultures.
Annals of clinical and laboratory science, 1988Urine cultures represent one of the most commonly submitted specimens to a microbiology laboratory. In an attempt to manage effectively this type of specimen, Bac-T-Screen (BTS), nitrate and leukoestrase test were performed on all clean catch urine specimens sent for culture. Three hundred and four specimens were screened by these methods.
