Weeds can cause serious damage during soybean development, due to allelopathy, competition for water, light and nutrients. It is necessary to investigate the influence of straw, of weeds Conyza spp. and Digitaria insularis, in soybean growth, production and composition and grains. If there is influence of allelopathic compounds at the crop.

Cover crops and nitrogen rates: Impacts on no‐till corn and soil health in Louisiana
Abstract Use of cover cropping systems to improve soil health is still limited in Louisiana. This study aimed to examine the interaction between cover crops and nitrogen (N) fertilizer rates on crop yield, soil chemical, and biological properties. Winter cover crop treatments, including legumes, a grass and brassica, and a fallow control, were combined

Abstract Warm‐season annual (WSA) forages enhance the summer forage supply in subtropical livestock systems. The objective of this study was to determine forage mass (FM), nutritive value, nitrogen (N) yield, and botanical composition in 12 forage mixtures managed under two harvest strategies (simulated grazing vs. baleage). A randomized complete block

Abstract Soil organic carbon (SOC) storage represents one of the most critical ecosystem services provided by soils, yet scientific assessments frequently focus on surface layers, overlooking deeper horizons. In this study, we investigated SOC stocks and spatial patterns of soil δ13C across three contrasting land use and land cover (LULC) types in ...

Coexistence of soybean plants and Urochloa spp. under glyphosate and water deficit effects
In the insertion of forage plants of the genus Urochloa P. Beauv. (Poaceae) coexisting with annual crops, proper management of the intercropping becomes necessary to avoid economic losses. Among management measures, the chemical inhibition of forage plants with herbicide subdoses is highlighted.
