Spermatogenesi nelle Appendicolarie (Urochordata)

2000

Vascular and Pericardiac Pressures inAscidiella Aspersa(Urochordata: Ascidiacea)

Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, 1985
INTRODUCTIONThe heart of tunicates is of physiological interest for several reasons: it is a simple peristaltic tube; it lacks valves; and the direction of the contractions changes periodically thus reversing the direction of blood flow. The phylogenetic importance of tunicates, being invertebrate chordates, also make physiological details of interest.

Urochordata: Botryllus – Natural Chimerism and Tolerance Induction in a Colonial Chordate

2018
Chimerism is defined as the coexistence of two or more genomes of separate origin within an individual. In placental mammals such as humans, natural chimerism develops during pregnancy between a mother and fetus and has an important role in the induction of fetal tolerance to maternal tissues.

Aspetti morfo-funzionali dell'epitelio digestivo in Appendicolarie (Urochordata)

1999

The Inflammatory Response of Urochordata: The Basic Process of the Ascidians’ Innate Immunity

2018
Ascidians form a widespread marine invertebrate group and are heterogeneous in terms of the taxonomic groups’ evolutionary lineages. The ascidian genomes lack significant homologies for rearranging genes of the vertebrate adoptive immunity. Genome analysis, gene sequencing, and transcriptional profiling have allowed us to disclose upregulation of ...

An autoradiographic demonstration of blood cell renewal inStyela clava (Urochordata: Ascidiaeea)

Experientia, 1975
The blood cells ofStyela clava were shown by autoradiography with tritiated thymidine to be renewed after several weeks. Proliferating lymphocytes and leucocytes occurred in the lymph nodules and blood channels of the body. Vacuolated cells did not proliferate but differentiated from a precursor cell type.

Licht- und elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchungen der Tunika von Cystodytes dellechiajei DELLA VALLE (Urochordata, Ascidiacea)

2002
