Resolution of Noncardiogenic Pulmonary Oedema and Suspected Uraemic Pneumonitis in a Dog With Acute Kidney Injury Treated by Haemodialysis. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
Noncardiogenic pulmonary oedema (suspected uraemic pneumonitis) secondary to acute kidney injury in a dog. This case suggests that noncardiogenic pulmonary oedema may have been triggered by uraemia and systemic inflammation, and that haemodialysis may have contributed to pulmonary recovery by alleviating the uraemic condition.

High-Throughput Targeted Sequencing Identifies an HPV Methylation Panel for Detecting Cervical Lesion Progression. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Med Virol
ABSTRACT High‐risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) infection is the primary cause of cervical cancer. However, hrHPV testing lacks specificity in detecting neoplastic changes. This study explored the utility of quantitative methylated HPV DNA markers for precise detection of cervical lesions.

Centering geospatial data uncertainty and the potential for injustice in pastoralist rangeland conservation prioritization

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Procedural, distributional, recognitional, and epistemic justice aspects of conservation interventions are well documented in contexts where pastoralism is a key livelihood and way of life. Geospatial analyses and representations of wildlife conservation and restoration that are increasingly applied in pastoralist rangeland socioecological ...

Dissipation induced $W$ state in a Rydberg-atom-cavity system

open access: yes, 2018
A dissipative scheme is proposed to prepare tripartite $W$ state in a Rydberg-atom-cavity system. It is an organic combination of quantum Zeno dynamics, Rydberg antiblockade and atomic spontaneous emission to turn the tripartite $W$ state into the unique

Thick GaN film stress-induced self-separation

open access: yes, 2019
Cracking of thick GaN films on sapphire substrates during the cooling down after the growth was studied. The cracking was suppressed by increasing the film-to-substrate thickness ratio and by using an intermediate carbon buffer layer, that reduced the ...

Integration of Genome‐Skimming Sequencing and Morphological Evidence Reveals Two New Endemic Species of Sinocrassula From Yunnan Province, China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Sinocrassula crassifolia. ABSTRACT Sinocrassula represents the medium‐sized Asian genus within Crassulaceae, exhibiting maximum species diversity in China. This study presented the first comprehensive phylogenetic analyses of Sinocrassula, utilizing both sanger data and next‐generation sequencing data.

A model for effective interactions in binary colloidal systems of soft particles

open access: yes, 2014
While the density functional theory with integral equations techniques are very efficient tools in numerical analysis of complex fluids, an analytical insight into the phenomenon of effective interactions is still limited.

Investigating dynamics in attentive and inattentive responding together with their contextual correlates using a novel mixture IRT model for intensive longitudinal data

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, Volume 79, Issue 2, Page 379-408, May 2026.
Abstract In ecological momentary assessment (EMA), respondents answer brief questionnaires about their current behaviours or experiences several times per day across multiple days. The frequent measurement enables a thorough grasp of the dynamics inherent in psychological constructs, but it also increases respondent burden.

Can a Top Predator Persist After One of the World's Largest Mining Dam Failures? Occupancy Dynamics of the Neotropical Otter in Brazil's Paraopeba River

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We evaluated the effects of the 2019 Brumadinho tailings‐dam collapse on neotropical otters (Lontra longicaudis) in Brazil's Paraopeba river using multi‐season occupancy models. Six years post‐collapse, otters showed high occupancy across impacted reaches.
