Chronically Stable, High‐Resolution Micro‐Electrocorticographic Brain‐Computer Interfaces for Real‐Time Motor Decoding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 45, December 4, 2025.
A high‐resolution micro‐electrocorticographic (µECoG) brain‐computer interface (BCI) for real‐time motor decoding is reported. The application of flexible, scalable µECoG electrode arrays overcomes the insufficient spatial resolution in conventional ECoG BCIs.

Review of the anatomical basis for predicting plutonium alpha particle radiation induced osteogenic cancers

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 12, Page 3197-3229, December 2025.
Abstract Plutonium was discovered and first synthesized in the early 1940's. Several isotopes of plutonium are used in nuclear technologies, 238Pu for heat generation and 239Pu for energy production and weapons. Both isotopes emit alpha particles, which pose a significant radiation hazard when incorporated into the body.

Nuclear Physics for Cultural Heritage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Nuclear physics applications in medicine and energy are well known and widely reported. Less well known are the many important nuclear and related techniques used for the study, characterization, assessment and preservation of cultural heritage.

Hyperspectral Imaging: The Intelligent Eye to Uncover the Password of Plant Science

open access: yesModern Agriculture, Volume 3, Issue 2, December 2025.
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has emerged as a powerful non‐destructive technique for characterisation of the plant phenotype and physiological traits. The ongoing development of cost‐effective hardware, coupled with standardised acquisition protocols and open‐access spectral libraries, is accelerating its integration with multi‐omics approaches to ...

An empty systematic review of the ‘pedagogy of multiliteracies’ in K‐12 since 1996: A generation later, evidence it improves literacy outcomes is lacking from (quasi‐)experimental classroom interventions

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 13, Issue 3, December 2025.
Abstract One of the most influential articles in the history of literacy education has been ‘A Pedagogy of Multiliteracies: Designing Social Futures’ co‐written by the New London Group in 1996. This seminal article introduced multiliteracies pedagogy, developed the theoretical framework for why it was needed, and outlined how teachers, curriculum ...

Micromechanical Insights into Sinter‐Based Additively Manufactured NiTi with Nb as a Sintering Aid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 21, November 2025.
This study investigates the microstructural and micromechanical behavior of NiTiNb made through filament‐based materials extrusion via chemically correlated nanoindentation. B19' remnants from the original powder lead to Nb gradients within NiTiNb grains due to the short sintering times required in liquid‐phase sintering.

Linking Land‐Use/Cover Change With Landscape‐Based Drivers in Contrasting Agro‐Ecological Environments of the East African Rift System

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 14, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
Use of Landsat data to drive land use/cover classes between 1986 and 2024. Geospatial and regression model to detect land use/cover change and associated driving factors. Land use/cover change along topographic gradient. 44% of land use/cover undergo to transition. Land use/cover change associated with 15 driving factors.

Patterns in lek persistence and attendance by lesser prairie‐chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus) near a wind energy facility in southern Kansas

open access: yesWildlife Biology, Volume 2025, Issue 6, November 2025.
As wind energy development expands across the Great Plains, there is potential to adversely affect species that require undisturbed tracts of native grasslands, such as the lesser prairie‐chicken Tympanuchus pallidicinctus. Effects of wind development on lesser prairie‐chicken (LEPC) movement and demographic rates have been minimal when turbines are ...

The Role of Protected Areas in Combating Tropical Dry Forest Loss: Insights From Kirindy Mitea National Park, Madagascar

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 57, Issue 6, November 2025.
Tropical dry forests face severe threats from deforestation, endangering both people and wildlife. This study examines the effectiveness of Kirindy Mitea National Park (KMNP) in Madagascar in preventing forest loss from 1993 to 2023 using satellite imagery.
