In this chapter, the authors describe Mission US: For Crown or Colony?, a history game for middle school students that they collaboratively designed, developed and tested. The authors argue that empathy is an important component of ethical thinking, and that history games, if well designed, can support the practice of empathy.

Design Re-Use using DesignWare
1995This chapter describes the Synopsys DesignWare concept introduced in Chapter 1. DesignWare allows one to use pre-existing components to easily implement designs. This chapter also discusses the mechanism for inferring complex cells using DesignWare. The steps involved in building your own DesignWare library are outlined.

Contraceptive use: the US perspective
International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 1998Multiple factors impact population trends and contraceptive use patterns in the US. Age distribution is the main factor driving contraceptive need however. Recent fertility trends in the US are heavily influenced by the transition of the "baby boomer" cohort from highly fertile to less fertile ages.
