Change of ZnDTP in Engine Oils During Use

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1985
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The lubrication properties of engine oils change in the early stage of car running and after that the oils keep a good antiwear property and a low friction coefficient even after 10,000 km running. On the other hand, the thin layer chromatography spot characteristic of ZnDTP disappeared after 2,000 km running.

The Use of Sunflower Oil in Diesel Engines

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1997
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Vegetable oils are an interesting alternative to diesel fuel, as they are a renewable source of energy, have a low sulfur content, are safe to store, do not cause skin ailment. However, using vegetable oils in order to fuel direct injection diesel engines creates problems due to their low heat energy and high ...

Bio-oil Use in Compression-Ignition Engines

1995
A research program concerning the use of bio-crude oil from wood flash pyrolysis as fuel for diesel power plants is outlined. Correlation between fuel and engine characteristics is shown. The choice of the engine for experimental investigation is prefigured.

Re‐refining used oil using rosin: A new approach for recycling waste engine oil

Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy
Abstract In this study, used lubricant oil was recycled using sulfuric acid, soda ash, rosin, and potash alum. The study found that the physicochemical properties of the recovered oil were closely aligned with the properties of fresh oils, indicating that the recycling process via this modified method was ...

Engineering Aspects of Upgrading Pyrolysis Oil Using Zeolites

1988
A slipstream of wood pyrolysis vapors, generated in an engineering scale process unit, is contacted with HZSM-5 zeolite catalyst in a fixed-bed reactor. The effect of reaction temperature on product yields and coking rates was investigated. Composition changes of the C5-C10 hydrocarbon products were also observed as a function of temperature.
