1-Nitropyrene in Used Diesel Engine Oil [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Air Pollution Control Association, 1986
It has been shown that engine oil may contribute 16 to 80 percent of the mass of organic-solvent-extractable particulate matter in diesel engine exhaust. This raises the possibility that the 1-nitropyrene in the exhaust is coming from the crankcase oil, having formed or accumulated there.

Heavy metal content in used engine oils depending on engine type and oil change interval

open access: yesArchives of Environmental Protection, 2023
The paper presents the results of the analysis of the content of selected heavy metals in used engine oils collected in car service stations during oil change. The main purpose of the research was to determine the difference in heavy metal content (Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn, Hg, Cd) depending on the engine type and oil change interval.
