Effects of Carbon Nanoparticles on Triboelectro‐Induced Surface Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanoparticles added to grease modify the electrocontact behavior. The synergy of particle concentration and electric current dominates the surface damage of metals in contact. Electrical surface damage caused by current leakage is a critical challenge in high‐performance applications such as electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains and wind turbine ...

Changes of engine oil flow properties during its life cycle

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2010
The work is focused on quantification of influence of operation on flow properties of motorcycle engine oil. Three different kinds of synthetic engine oil (MOTUL) were tested, namely unused oil, run-in oil (650 km after engine reboring) and regular ...

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐
