Lubricant based on used motor oil
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2006A lubricant is proposed-an analog of transmission oil made from exhaustively treated used motor oil with addition of a thickener and a special additive package. The results of an evaluation of its physicochemical and some performance properties are reported.

Recycling of used lubricating oils in Australia
Conservation & Recycling, 1979Abstract Satisfactory re-refining of waste oil has become increasingly difficult to achieve in recent years; the reasons for this are examined. Several alternative reprocessing steps have been investigated experimentally but no simple process appears entirely suitable for commercial implementation on a small scale at this stage.

Using of Cottonseed Oil as An Environmentally Accepted Lubricant Additive
Energy Sources, 2004At the present time, to minimize friction and to control wear in machines elements are used with lubricating oil manufactured by advanced technologies. The high performance of lubricating oils is provided by oil additives. Additives improve the lubricating ability of the base oils by either enhancing the desirable properties, which is already present ...

Re-refining of used lubricating oil
International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research, 2015Small amount pure lubricating oil can pollute major amounts of water eg: groundwater as well as the land on which it is spilled. Used engine oil itself contains a number of additives and is contaminated by impurities and residues resulting from the combustion process.
