Designing meeting support systems in a user-centered manner

Proceedings of conference on Organizational computing systems - COCS '95, 1995
Multilateral diplomacy faces pressures to improve the efficiency of its operations. Because meetings play a central role in diplomacy they form one promising target in productivity improvements. Diplomatic meetings are rife with political maneuvering and embedded with pervasive diplomatic rituals and protocols which all affect considerably the content ...

User-centered Design of Accessible Web and Automation Systems

2011
During the past decades, Web applications and industrial automation systems – and their combination in e.g. pervasive computing – have gained more and more importance in our daily life. However until now, user interface accessibility remains as an important quality aspect and a challenge for implementation.

User-Centered Label Design Guidelines for Child Restraint Systems

Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, 2017
Child Restraint Systems (CRS; car seats) are designed to prevent injuries in motor vehicle collisions. CRS misuse and installation errors are common and may seriously reduce or nullify safety benefits. Poorly designed labels and instructions contribute to CRS misuse, and CRS manufacturers are not held to an evidence-based label design standard.

Workshop on User-Centered Design for Automated Driving Systems

Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications Adjunct, 2017
Automated driving systems (ADS) are mainly regarded from an innovation and technology-centered perspective. In academia, as well as in industry, there is a concentration on technical issues to maintain competitiveness while aspects like acceptance, trust and user experience are widely under-researched.

User Centered Systems Design: The Bridging Role of Justificatory Knowledge

2012
In this paper we debate on the possibility of enhancing current Human Computer Interaction (HCI) methods by proposing a structured view on current approaches to the design of IT artifacts which is grounded on the Information Systems (IS) literature.

User Centered Design eHealth System for Chronic Disease Monitoring

Biomedical Engineering, 2013
There are multiple commercial eHealth platforms and research projects working in this type of system, but only some of them take into account patients´ interaction. This paper presents an approach of eHealth system based on user centered design. To achieve a user centered design system, a multidisciplinary development team has been cooperated.

User-Centered Design of Information Systems

2017
User-centered design (UCD) emerged a couple of decades ago because people had difficulties in using systems. It is founded on the principle that users need to be involved in the design and development process for systems to be truly usable efficient, effective, and satisfying.

Using Multi-Channel Human-System Interaction for User-Centered Product Design

Volume 13: Design, Reliability, Safety, and Risk, 2018
User-centered product design (UCPD) and especially its methods and tools offer a lot of benefits to product development. By using specific data of the user group or by including them into the design process, systems with better functionality and usability arise.

A User-Centered-Design Perspective on Systems to Support Co-located Design Collaboration

2013
This paper describes a context mapping study that was conducted with designers from three companies to elicit design design-relevant insights into systems that can more optimally support co-located design collaboration. The study aim is to better understand the current and envisioned way of working of design professionals. The main results are a series
