USLE "C" Values for Louisiana Sugarcane

2012 Dallas, Texas, July 29 - August 1, 2012, 2007
Universal Soil Loss Equation cropping and management “C” values were calculated by crop stages for Louisiana sugarcane. Measured soil loss and rainfall erosion indices were used in the calculation of the “C” values. The winter crop stage “C” value was 0.107.

EVALUATION OF WEPP AND ITS COMPARISON WITH USLE AND RUSLE

Transactions of the ASAE, 2000
The USDA-Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) demonstrates a new generation of water erosion prediction technology for use in soil and water conservation planning and assessment. The WEPP computer model is based on various interacting natural processes in hydrology, plant sciences, soil physics, and erosion mechanics.

The Use of USLE Components in Models

1998
The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) has been in use during the past several decades. Developed from small erosion plots, it has become the standard for erosion prediction in the U.S. and other parts of the world. There have been few changes in the model since its conception.

Discussion: Misrepresentation of the USLE in ‘Is sediment delivery a fallacy?’

Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 2008
AbstractThe assertion that the application of the USLE to predicting soil losses within a catchment or watershed is not sound because the USLE provides an estimate of erosion that would be measured if the entire area were divided up into 22·1 m long plots, and the output from them all added together, is incorrect.

A wild automorphism ofUsl(2)

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1976
AbstractIt is known that the automorphism groups of various torsion-free associative algebras over two generators take a particularly simple form. It has been suggested (10), though never proved, that this fails over three or more generators. Here it is shown that this is indeed the case for the enveloping algebra ofsl(2), a result which answers a ...
