Echinococcosis in Utah

Abstract A fatal case of indigenously acquired echinococcosis is reported from Herriman, Utah. The patient, an 8-year-old boy, is known to have had contact with animals on his grandfather's ranch, and subsequent studies traced infected sheep back to this ranch, where a dog carrying Echinococcus granulosus tapeworms was also identified.

However, during the period from September 2010 through to August 2011, significant rulings were issued in three cases. No significant legislative or administrative oil and gas development occurred during that period.
