Convolutional Neural Network Model to Predict Outdoor Comfort UTCI Microclimate Map

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2022
Although research on applying machine learning to the performance of the built environment has been advancing considerably, outdoor environment prediction models still need to be more accurate. In this study, I investigated hybrid-driven methods for developing environmental performance prediction models and studied how machine learning algorithms may ...

Optimising the urban environment through holistic Microclimate Modelling – The case of Beirut's pericenter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Various studies have suggested that urbanisation may significantly alter microclimate conditions. To address this, expanding urban vegetation cover can be used to aid the dissipation of excess heat through enhancing evapotranspiration. This study aims to

The UTCI Index in Lesko and Lublin and its circulation determinants

open access: yesGeographia Polonica, 2013
In Lesko and Lublin, Poland, from 1981 to 2005, the UTCI values were calculated for 8 observation terms a day. The frequency of the UTCI classes determined as ‘cold stress’ was dominant in Lesko and in Lublin (65-66%). The frequency of classes determined as ‘heat stress’ was observed in 3% of all situations.
