UTCI forecast in Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service
2022With an increase in frequency and intensity of extreme events due to global warming, the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ) is always looking to improve its algorithms and warning system for such events. Part of the current biometeorological forecast and the Meteoalarm warning system are forecasts of heat waves and cold spells.

Climate projections of UTCI in the Czech Republic
A thermal stress on human is determinated by a combination of various meteorological variables, such as temperature, humidity, etc. Many indices have been created for the determination of level of thermal stress. Here, we select the universal thermal climate index (UTCI), which is created with the use of temperature, humidity, wind speed, and mean ...Martin Hynčica +2 more

Summer UTCI in Eastern China: Climate Drivers and Subseasonal Prediction
Journal of Applied Meteorology and ClimatologyAbstract The universal thermal climate index (UTCI) quantifies human physiological responses to the outdoor thermal environment and can serve as an indicator of the impact of heat waves on human health. This study employed the Liang–Kleeman information flow technique to examine the lag relationship between 144 climate system indices ...

Explaining trends in UTCI in the Czechia between 1991 and 202
The increase in thermal stress on human has been recently documented due to changing climatic conditions, mainly in the lowlands and the urban areas. The future evolution of the climate, as predicted by various scenarios, also proves that thermal stress on humans will further increase.Martin Hynčica +3 more
