Long Term Copepod Culture Houses a Rich Microbial Eukaryotic Community Including New and Known Symbionts

open access: yesJournal of Eukaryotic Microbiology, Volume 72, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
ABSTRACT Copepods, dominant marine zooplankton, are hosts to microbial eukaryotic symbionts, but the copepod eukaryome remains largely unexplored. We used 18S rRNA gene primers with reduced metazoan amplification to identify microbial eukaryotes in a culture of Calanus finmarchicus (Copepoda).

The Present‐Day Relation Between Observed Bottom Water Oxygenation and Marine Oxygen Proxies

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract This study investigates how marine sediment proxies reflect dissolved oxygen levels in fjord basin water to improve our understanding of coastal marine deoxygenation that has been associated with ongoing climate change. We use western Norwegian fjords to test how marine sediment proxies for dissolved oxygen perform. Such knowledge is needed to

Arctic‐Atlantic Cyclones: Variability in Thermodynamic Characteristics, Large‐Scale Flow, and Local Impacts

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 5, 16 March 2025.
Abstract Cyclones at polar latitudes of the Atlantic‐Arctic corridor exhibit different thermodynamic characteristics. Midlatitude‐origin cyclones, which make up about 14% of wintertime cyclones in the region, are generally warm and moist. The more numerous Arctic‐origin cyclones display a wide range in the boundary‐layer equivalent potential ...

Deep Fjords Are Excellent Natural Infrastructure for Climate Impact Studies

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 26, Issue 2, Page 270-277, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Fjords provide valuable research opportunities for marine scientists. They are excellent natural infrastructure for climate impact studies associated with hypoxic episodes and consequences for mesopelagic and deep‐sea ecosystems involving oceanographic circulation processes and basin water renewals.

A systematic review and meta‐analysis of atypical visual attention towards non‐social stimuli in preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder

open access: yesAutism Research, Volume 17, Issue 12, Page 2628-2644, December 2024.
Abstract Research on attention towards non‐social stimuli in preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has increased over the past decade; however, findings have been inconsistent. It has been suggested that stimuli relating to common circumscribed interests (CIs) elicit more attention than non‐CI related stimuli.

Drying kinetics and mathematical modeling of seeds of two mango varieties at different temperatures and with different pretreatments

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 18, Issue 4, Page 899-926, July/August 2024.
Abstract Increasing global waste generation is not only a threat but also an opportunity to address energy insecurity and pollution using green valorization techniques. However, this requires pretreatment of waste and byproducts and optimization of drying to obtain high‐quality biofuels.

Lever kvinner frå høgare sosiale lag i Zambia med meir moderne haldningar, enn kvinner frå lågare sosiale lag? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014

Numerical analysis of a tethered‐buoy mooring system for a prototype floating wind farm

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 27, Issue 5, Page 500-529, May 2024.
Abstract Conventional mooring systems contribute significantly to the cost of floating wind projects, and innovative solutions with cost‐saving potentials are desired. In the present paper, we investigate the fundamental dynamic behavior of an innovative tethered‐buoy mooring system for a prototype wind farm in which two spar floating offshore wind ...
