Immunohistochemical markers and the clinical course of adenosarcoma: a series of seven cases

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2020
Background Uterine adenosarcoma, a rare uterine tumor subtype, is a biphasic tumor consisting of epithelial and mesenchymal elements. To date, there is no research comparing the histopathological features and immunohistochemistry of primary and recurrent

Psychosocial Impact of Sarcoma: Challenges and Adaptation, a Meta‐Synthesis

open access: yesPsycho-Oncology, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Sarcoma is a rare and heterogeneous cancer frequently associated with significant psychosocial burden. This review aims to synthesise qualitative research to examine the psychosocial impact of sarcoma in adults, focusing on how individuals experience and make sense of disruption across diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and ...

Radiomics‐based ultrasOund Model for differentiating Uterine Sarcomas from leiomyomas (ROMUS): a retrospective pilot Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian Cancer (MITO) study

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 67, Issue 4, Page 530-541, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To develop machine‐learning models that incorporate clinical information and radiomics features extracted from ultrasound images to distinguish uterine sarcomas from leiomyomas. Methods This retrospective, multicenter, pilot case–control study included 200 patients (100 with a uterine sarcoma and 100 with a usual‐type leiomyoma, i.e.

A Rare Case of Intramural Müllerian Adenosarcoma Arising from Adenomyosis of the Uterus [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Pathology and Translational Medicine, 2017
Müllerian adenosarcomas usually arise as polypoid masses in the endometrium of post-menopausal women. Occasionally, these tumors arise in the cervix, vagina, broad and round ligaments, ovaries and rarely in extragenital sites; these cases are generally ...

A Qualitative Review of Clinical Decision‐Making Using [99mTc]Tc‐Mercaptoacetyltriglycine Renal Scintigraphy in Patients With Malignant Ureteral Obstruction

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 106-114, March 2026.
This case series evaluated the clinical utility of [99mTc]Tc‐MAG3 renal scintigraphy in managing malignant ureteral obstruction (MUO). Renal scintigraphy‐guided decision‐making allowed safe conservative management in selected patients, particularly those with a non‐functional excretion pattern, and helped avoid unnecessary urinary drainage.

Next-Generation Sequencing Analysis of 3 Uterine Adenosarcomas with Heterogeneously Differentiated Genomic Mutations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2023
Uterine adenosarcoma (UA) is an uncommon mixed tumor containing a benign to at most mildly atypical epithelial component and a sarcoma-like stroma, usually a low-grade, stromal component, with rare heterogeneous elements.

Acute Presentation of Nonpuerperal Uterine Inversion Following a Diagnosis of Uterine Carcinosarcoma: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Nonpuerperal uterine inversion (NPUI) due to endometrial carcinosarcoma can present in an acute manner with life‐threatening complications. The rare presentation of uterine inversion outside of the puerperium caused by a malignant etiology, which was further complicated by the urgent need for intervention, makes this case crucial in ...

Decoding UTROSCT heterogeneity: systematic clinicopathological evaluation combined with molecular profiling

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Uterine tumor resembling ovarian sex cord tumor (UTROSCT) constitutes an exceptionally rare histological subset of uterine mesenchymal neoplasms. While most cases have benign clinical behavior, a subset of UTROSCTs exhibits clinically aggressive behavior characterized by recurrence and metastasis.
