Contraction frequency and acidemia at birth: A case–control study
This case–control study shows an association by exposure level between contraction frequency during the final hour before birth and fetal acidemia. Effect sizes are similar regardless of oxytocin use. Contraction frequencies above both the conventional and revised thresholds are common, indicating poor positive predictive value.
