Uterine electromyogram topography to represent synchronization of uterine contractions
International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 2007AbstractObjective: To image the synchronization of different parts of the uterus in relation to the abdominal surface during uterine contractions using uterine electromyogram topography. Methods: Of the 20 participants, 16 were in active labor at term, 1 was in preterm labor, and 3 were experiencing failed induced labor.

Changes in uterine blood flow during uterine contractions
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1969Abstract During spontaneous and oxytocin-induced labor, recordings were made of relative uterine blood flow (thermistor method), intrauterine pressure, femoral venous and arterial pressures, and maternal heart rate. In prelabor, uterine blood flow exhibits frequent irregular waves quite independent of the observed uterine activity. During labor there

Analysis of uterine contraction signals
2011 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine Workshops (BIBMW), 2011In the United States there is a 27% of increase in premature birth over the past 20 years. The lack of an effective method for differentiating true labor from false labor causes unwanted hospital stays and treatment which could be avoided if there is a better understanding of the uterus dynamics.

Clinical assessment of uterine contractions
International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 2017AbstractThe assessment of uterine contractions is important in clinical decisionāmaking, but the precise role for appraising contractions remains controversial. Four clinical approaches to assessing contractions are available: manual palpation; intrauterine pressure determination; external tocodynamometry; and electrohysterography.

[Infection and uterine contraction].
Zeitschrift fur Geburtshilfe und Perinatologie, 1995A great number of studies on women as well as experiments on animals support the association of silent intrauterine infection with the initiation of preterm labour. However, the success of antibiotic therapy in reducing bacteria-induced labour in animals could only be confirmed in few reports concerning women in preterm labour.
